Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 18 April 2026.This Acceptable Use Policy (the "AUP") describes conduct that is not allowed on ClientDone. It applies to everyone who uses the Service, including Customers, their team members, and their Clients. Violating this AUP is a material breach of the Terms of Service.
1. Illegal and harmful activity
You must not use the Service to:
- Do anything illegal in the country where you are located or where your Clients are located.
- Promote, facilitate, or engage in violence, terrorism, hate speech, human trafficking, or child sexual abuse material.
- Harass, threaten, defame, stalk, or impersonate another person or organization.
- Commit or support fraud, including invoice fraud, pyramid schemes, phishing, and identity theft.
- Process payments for, or run, any business that is on the Stripe Prohibited Businesses list or the equivalent list of any payment processor we use.
2. Intellectual property and privacy
- Do not upload, send, or share content that you do not have the right to use.
- Do not upload personal data about anyone who has not given you the right to collect it, or where that data is subject to a regulation that ClientDone is not designed for (for example, HIPAA protected health information).
- Do not upload payment card numbers, full expiry dates, or card security codes inside documents, galleries, messages, or invoices. Use the payment processor for payment data.
- Do not upload passwords, private keys, or other credentials belonging to any third party.
3. Security and operational abuse
- Do not attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours.
- Do not probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any part of the Service without our prior written consent. Responsible disclosure is welcome at
security@clientdone.com. - Do not upload malware, viruses, or any code designed to disrupt, damage, or secretly track systems.
- Do not use automated tools to scrape, index, or harvest Service content beyond what a normal user would access.
- Do not interfere with the operation of the Service, including by overloading it, circumventing rate limits, or bypassing access controls.
- Do not use the Service to send unsolicited bulk email (spam) or for email-harvesting operations.
4. Reselling and white-labeling
Do not resell, rent, lease, or sublicense the Service. Do not use the Service in a way that presents it to end users as if it were your own platform, except under a written reseller or agency agreement signed with us.
5. Content quality and honesty
- Do not misrepresent who you are or what service you provide.
- Do not publish or send misleading invoices, contracts, or testimonials.
- Do not collect testimonials under false pretences or publish testimonials in a way that misleads a reader about who wrote them.
6. Specific content the Service is not designed for
Even where lawful, the Service is not designed for:
- Documents that legally require a wet-ink signature, notarization, or an Advanced / Qualified Electronic Signature under eIDAS.
- Wills, codicils, testamentary trusts, adoption or divorce documents, court filings or orders, and sworn affidavits.
- Protected health information (HIPAA PHI) or equivalent regulated health data.
- Classified, export-controlled, or other material whose storage outside a dedicated secure environment is not permitted.
- Adult content, gambling, or high-risk merchant categories that our payment processor prohibits.
7. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations of this AUP. If we confirm a violation, we may: remove the relevant content; suspend or restrict access to the Service; close the account; notify affected parties; and, where appropriate, cooperate with law enforcement. Where we reasonably can, we will warn the Customer first and allow a chance to cure, but we may act immediately where the violation involves real or threatened harm to others or to the Service.
8. Reporting
Report violations, abuse, or security issues to abuse@clientdone.com. Include as much detail as you can. We investigate every report and, where appropriate, tell the reporter what action we took.
